A teapot is used to prepare loose tea – it can take many forms, originally based on the needs of the tea area. We have very different Japanese Kyosu teapots with a side-handle, Matchu teapots, Shiboridashi variations, Chinese “ixing” teapots, Gaiwans, …

Each type is suited for a different brewing method and type of tea. And each can be made from a different type of material – most commonly found in glazed and unglazed ceramic, porcelain, glass, and even cast iron.
